1. We're sitting on the edge of a stratus deck here in the eastern part of DFW. That wasn't really forecasted, but hopefully it will mix out and/or push eastward quickly.

2. Satellite image is already showing a massive area of dust surging eastward from the Panhandle. It should reach the I-35 corridor by midday or early afternoon...

Will it make a stop at Dairy Queen or Buc-ees along the way?

You need to account for that.

Don't even need the dust RGB to see it. Pretty clear on visible.

Models are really struggling with temps given the complex/dynamic setup.

It's currently 81*F in Mineral Wells, several degrees above projections.

Meanwhile, most models only had highs getting into the mid/upper 70s...

A extremely rare high risk for severe weather (tornadoes) has been issued for tomorrow by the SPC, including Birmingham...

Another large temp bust. The dry air warms up quick. Starting to see a little dust blow in.

I was just noticing that, I wonder how much of it will make it our way.

Seems like a good night to stay indoors

86*F at DFW now, although the dryline has moved through (dewpoint crashed from the mid 50s to mid 20s).

Apparently parts of southern Norman are being evacuated due to a wildfire. Also Leedy in western OK evacuated.

Only going to get worse as we progress through a dry spring and hot summer. Could give 2011 a run for the money.

I forsee a major wildfire event somewhere in the southern Hill Country/Edwards Plateau near SA/NB in the next few years. Maybe I should move.

Good thing the clueless SA news people are happy now that "all" that nasty cold weather and rain we had this winter is over with now. Let's make it more like California!

Tomorrow's Mid-South tornado outbreak looks like it may rival April 27, 2011. Just went Googling, a fading cold ENSO correlates to some degree. 2010-2011 was a much stronger prior Nina than 2024-25 is, of course.

I think most of us here can agree this weather pattern sucks. The consistent high wind and fire danger events are so depressing. And not much hope for things changing anytime soon. :(

Somewhere in the general vicinity of Kamay is a 20 acre uncontained fire. That would be easily contained most days, no sure about today.

1000 acre Rest Area fire in Gray County is 0% contained. Aggie forest service page. (https://tfswildfires.com/public/) Edit to add- Windmill fire is 9000 acres (it was 8000 acres 2 hours ago) and uncontained.

I don't see a similar map during a quick Google for the Oklahoma fires,

Unfortunately it's not going to change anytime soon. Another similar track system middle next week (dry) behind this.
