I was up for the storms. Only got some pea sized hail from a hail core at around 5:15 but really nice lightning too. Just the right storm—no damaging hail!!!

Same here in SE Tarrant, small pea size hail that lasted only 5-10 min. Rain wasn't heavy, but was steady. Pretty quiet right now, and seen some clearing to the west.

Thank God it was only pea-sized hail here in Rockwall. Hopefully that’s the largest size we see. I know some here like severe weather, but I don’t. It can be expensive and life threatening.

I like severe weather, but not big hail. Pea size can come down in buckets, but hail is the bad thing. If it’s wind, bring it on.

We got about 5 minutes of up to nickel size hail in far SE Frisco around 5:45am this morning. No visible damage to vehicles or home. The radar showed the worst of the hail was just south of 121 in north Plano in that line of storms.

Got a little bit of rain but not much. Next event (Tues-Weds) at least for DFW looks again not great timing and might actually be a tad cooler. But should be a better rainfall system than this one.

Unfortunately, we don't get to pick the size of the hail in a severe thunderstorm. And straight-line winds can, and have been destructive. A few years ago, about 2 miles from my house, several homes were severely damaged from straight-line winds. It looked like a tornado had hit, but it was the wind. I'll take none of that as well. I like my house in 1 piece.

Yeah, severe threat across 35 corr next week looks quite low IMO .

edit: austin - DFW area

San Antonio stands a better chance.

I think sweet spot is the Hill COuntry and SWTX.

About what I got in Dallas. About 5 minutes of sideways-driven nickel hail in gusty winds, probably up to 50mph once or twice. Really heavy rain when it was happening but very short duration

We had a line of sprinkles this morning with really humid air. Now the humidity is 16%, with a temp of 84! Dry line I guess.

Edit: down to 13% now. :double:

NWS FTW did an evaluation of the severe weather from this morning and concluded that an EF0 tornado went through Mesquite this morning around 7:35 and damaged a few houses. I’m on mobile so I can’t figure out how to upload the official report picture from them but the first tornado of 2019 for DFW has occurred.

This upcoming Wednesday travel day from Houston to Ft Worth may be interesting.

High in the 40s today with rain. I’d rather it be a little colder but I’ll take it while I can.

The models are much drier for Central TX now. Sigh...

My perception is that models do a better job in advance with spring and summer weather/storms. Is that incorrect? Just seems like they did well with Saturday but struggled with every single possible winter event.
