I've seen a slight cooling in the night time temps, but daytime temps are pushing record levels. I dont see anything turning yellow yet, probably wont be for a couple of months yet beofre anything falls. I'm all for a strong winter.

Anyway, my Frangipani leaves are beginning to turn yellow and that is usually the sign of fall approaching and this time it is happening early. So, I foolishly predict an early break in the oppressive summer heat and possbily and comfortable fall and winter. I am in Southwest Florida.

I noticed my Frangipani's had a couple of yellow leaves too. I was thinking it is because of the drought.

I am surely ready for a break in this heat! Maybe we will get some showers this weekend.

Its ten thirty at night and the heat index is 91 and I'm miserable. For me Fall doesn't arrive until after Thanksgiving in Tampa. I'm praying for a break from the heat. The NWS in Tampa says we may get a "suncoast slammer". I hope he means a good rain. We sure do need it.
WILL DEFER TO NEXT SHIFT TO TWEAK PROBABILITIES AND LOCATIONS.
SATURDAY COULD BE MORE ROBUST AS MORE CLASSIC LOW LEVEL SOUTHEAST
FLOW COMBINES WITH DEEPER MOISTURE...WHICH COULD SET UP ONE OF THE
FEW CASES (FOR THIS SUMMER ANYWAY) OF A SUNCOAST SLAMMER.
THEREAFTER...EXPECT RAIN CHANCES TO STAY CLOSE TO AVERAGE FOR LATE
AUGUST WHICH IS MORE LIKE IT AFTER ANOTHER PROLONGED PERIOD OF
GENERALLY DRY CONDITIONS.

I got rain earlier in a squall line. I'm guessing about a tenth of an inch.

Cool avatar.

Tanks, I took that while on vacation. I made hubby pull over so I could take it specifically for my avatar. He was a little pissy about stopping traffic. But I got my shot. :P

I have a theory as to why it was feeling so much more comfortable in the evenings and that I could FEEL, ever so slightly, fall approaching.

The sun is setting much earlier now ( 7:04 p.m. ) as apposed to 8:45 p.m. So, the sun is getting lower in the sky and that reduces the heating which does make for a more comfortable evening.
Fall is coming, even if the temps aren't really dropping. In the evenings it is in the lower 80's and that is so much more comfortable and the humidity isn't so bad. EXCEPT for last night, thanks to the tropical wave and the train of storms. It was humid and muggy and miserable. But, this to shall pass.

SO, how is my theory?

during the three days of 60% a total of 5 drops. Yesterday with 40% I had a very close call twice, but still no rain.

It doesn't look like the west coast seabreeze is kickin in at all, looks like just the east coast seabreeze racing off to the gulf.
And what was near you Larry looks like it just feel apart. Nothing going on in my neck of the woods either. At least we got a few inches this weekend.
