Appears the line is weakening as it goes through lake charles. Thank goodness. I'll take a nice rain but i don't like severe storms at night.

ATTN WFOS...LCH...HGX...FWD...EWX...
ATTN RFCS...WGRFC...
.
EVENT...SATELLITE AND OBSERVATIONAL DATA SUGGESTING POTENTIAL HEAVY
RAIN EVENT
.
SATELLITE ANALYSIS AND TRENDS...OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF HOURS HAVE
NOTICED A GRADUAL INCREASE IN CONVECTION FROM JUST NORTH OF 3T5 AND
EXTENDING EAST TOWARDS DWH. CONVECTION IS LIKELY ELEVATED IN NATURE
AS MODEST LLJ IS ISENTROPICALLY LIFTED OVER REMNANT OUTFLOW BOUNDARY
FROM EARLIER MCS. THE MOST RECENT SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWS VERY RAPID
CLOUD TOP COOLING NEAR DWH WITH A SMALL BUT VERY EVIDENT OVERSHOOTING
TOP JUST W OF DWH. GOES SOUNDER PRECIPITABLE MAXING OUT AROUND 1.90"
IN THE AREA AND THIS WOULD SUGGEST RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO 2.0"/HR IN
THE MOST INTENSE CONVECTION JUST W OF DWH.
.
0Z SOUNDINGS SHOWING DIFFLUENT 1000-500MB THICKNESS PATTERN NEAR
DISCUSSION AREA AND THIS COMBINED WITH ALIGNMENT OF LLJ AXIS AND
GOES SOUNDER INSTABILITY RESERVOIR OVER THE W GULF OF MEXICO WOULD
SUGGEST THAT CONVECTION SHOULD CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY ON THE SHORT TERM.
ABOVE MENTIONED THICKNESS PATTERN AND CORFIDI VECTORS SUGGEST THAT ANY
ORGANIZED CONVECTIVE COMPLEX WILL LIKELY BE SLOW MOVING.
.
QUICK LOOK AT 0632Z IMAGE SHOWS THAT CONVECTION CONTINUES TO EXPAND WITH
RAPIDLY COOLING CLOUD TOPS. MOST RECENT COOLING NOW OCCURRING JUST
EAST OF DWH. CONVECTION OVER W HARRIS COUNTY HAS APPEARED TO EVOLVE
INTO AN ENHANCED-V SIGNATURE. BELIEVE 2.0"/HR RAINFALL RATES LIKELY IN
MOST INTENSE CORES. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR POTENTIAL THREAT.

Hi srain. I'm getting pounded again here in Bear Creek. I'm so tired I can't quite believe the big red blob has set up right over the Dome.

Yep it has started up here again too, but not that bad yet. I fear I will be getting calls from the kids that they are flooded before this is all over. We may be heading into a MAJOR FLOOD EVENT for most of Harris county above I-10 if this persists overnight like it appears it will, especially with that super fast 5 mph drift to the East, if that. Little Cypress Creek is already out of its banks as noted in the bulletin above. That is about a mile from my son's house.

Hey Jen and David. Almost 3 inches of rain since storms woke me up around 1:30 AM. Enough already. A lot of folks will have some issues for the morning commute.

Edit to add it's still pouring up here. Pool as overflowed again. :double:

Same amounts here srain. It started with a bang and has not let up once in the past 30 minutes. Street is rapidly filling and I suspect bad flooding in homes in another 30 minutes or less.

I'm afraid to look at our pool, but have no doubt that it is now one with the yard.

We had 3.3" in the first storm. I'm not sure I want to think about what this is going to bring if it persists. Here in SB it isn't bad so far this time but it is raining and seems to be increasing. I'm pretty much afraid to go to bed, at least for a while till I have a good idea what this is going to do.
Our next door neighbor is on a long cruise. I sure hope he lowered his pool. Otherwise he may be getting water in the back of his newly renovated house. Since his back gate is locked I can''t get in to see either.

Over 8 inches of rain since yesterday event up here. At least we built our pool with an auto drain system. I'm officially over this mess now.

That's another downside to pools: havingto empty the overflow when it rains this badly. You can only empty so much in anticipation of a rain event and still let it circulate, otherwise air gets sucked into the pump and overheats hit. Seems like every hurricane threat brings with it some unlucky slob who completely empties his pool thinking it will act as a retention pond. Then it literally floats out of the ground. LOL!

No end in sight for the moment, is there? Plenty of thunder going on as well and I'd say easily 2.5 to 3 inches an hour here in BC.

Unfortunately it appears that this is going to be a long event. It is no hurry to rain itself out. In fact I think it is just refiring over and over again on a stalled boundary. The rain is slowly bu surely getting harder here too. ugh!!!!

I'm not liking what I'm seeing on radar. Storms continue to refire in Austin and Waller Counties. Going to be a lot of surprised folks. I know I am.

NWS just told me that you have had over 10" in BC area. It is now moving slowly S or SE to me. We are getting pounded now. I guess I get to sleep during the daytime hours tomorrow if I'm not trying to save things like Jen.

edit 4:22 am- I don't know how much rain we have had here, but we have water in the house also. It is not like Jen's yet, but the water is higher than I have seen it ever here. It is at least a foot over our curb and we are at the higher end. The water in the house is minimal so far and due to the yard not being able to handle the deluge which was definitely worse than anything I have seen in any storm or hurricane, including Allison. My guess would be 6" per hour rates for at least some of the time. Right now I would guess it is still coming down at at least 2" per hour. I'm sure there will be quite a few homes flooded tonight all over NW Houston.
