Orlando International Airport is down to 44F at midnight with a forecast calling for 36F by sunrise. If the low of 36F plays out, then it will beat the old record low for the date which is 38F (set in 1974).

Update - MCO now down to 40F at 2am EST.

Also, Miami International Airport looks like it may try to make a run for the 40s tonight. At 2am they are sitting at 53F with a 39F dewpoint and 3mph winds. If the winds can remain light, then I do not see much stopping them from creeping below 50F by sunrise.

32.3* at the closest Wunderground station. :cold:

And it looked like it had snowed when I took Winnie out this morning!

Official low at Miami was 52 deg and Fort Lauderdale 51 deg. Just can't seem to crack the 50 deg mark at either of those 2 reporting stations this season....so far.

Forecast low tonight reflects a gradual turn to an onshore flow....expected to drop to 60 deg in Miami and 61 deg in Fort Lauderdale.

Orlando, FL only got down to 39F last night, meaning that they did not break a record low as forecast. None the less, it was yet another cold night in central Florida to add to the books for this autumn/winter.

I had Frost last night!!! My mom got up at 5:30 and looked out and there was patchy frost on the cars and in the grass. I went out to confirm it, and the elephant ears are black, which normally means we had frost. Certainly wasnt expecting it!

We were at 38.1 at my house when I woke up around 6:30 which would tie the record. 8-) But looking further at the weather station it seems it got down to 35.1 around 4 this morning which would break the record, but offcial numbers are different I realize..... either way you slice it, it was cold as he!! this morning. :P

HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN STATES THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEK KEEPING CONDITIONS TRANQUIL, BUT MOISTURE WILL INCREASE ACROSS SOUTH FLORIDA BY WEDNESDAY AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES. THIS FRONT IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO CENTRAL FLORIDA THURSDAY WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE BOUNDARY.

Nothing better than a beach day in December...

from NWS Miami..
VERY WARM AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES FOR THE INTERIOR AND EASTERN
PORTIONS OF SOUTH FLORIDA...AND WITH MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES AROUND
80F YESTERDAY...EXPECT LOWER TO MID 80S THIS AFTERNOON. WILL
ADJUST TEMPERATURES UPWARD 2-4 DEGREES ABOVE WARMEST MAV NUMBERS
ALONG THE EAST COAST...BUT HOLD VALUES JUST SHY OF RECORDS IN THE
86-88F DEGREE RANGE. THE THREAT FOR PRECIPITATION TODAY WILL
REMAIN NIL...
