Probably not much anytime soon for south Florida.

North Florida, we do get part of those arctic air masses at least.
Even this one though barely blessed us with cold air. A few days of freezing @ night with 60F highs, then quickly back to 55F/75F days.

Very Cold today: 55*F with light rain at the official station...but the wind

This cool weather snap is going to last about 36 hours and then is going bye-bye as a REX block-like setup in the GOM and Florida are going to keep Florida (especially S. Florida) without any cool snaps for the next 10 days at least.

Excerpt from NWS Miami:

.EXTENDED PERIOD...TUE THROUGH THU...HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYED THE BRIEF
TEMPORARY COOLER TEMPS WITH THE PASSAGE OF THE COLD FRONT THU AND
THE SECONDARY FRONT FRI. FOR THROUGH THIS EXTENDED PERIOD...AND
POSSIBLY BEYOND...HIGH PRES ALOFT BECOMES ANCHORED OVER S GULF OF
MEX AND ACROSS THE S FLA PENINSULA. SURFACE PRES BECOMES ANCHORED
OVER CENTRAL FLA ENSURING A PERPETUAL EASTERLY FLOW OFF THE THE ATLC
WITH MINIMAL...IF AT ALL...E COAST SHOWERS. THE TANDEM HIGH PRES
SYSTEMS BLOCK ANY WEATHER SYSTEMS FROM THE NW FROM EVEN THINKING
ABOUT APPROACHING S FLA. THUS...ESSENTIALLY DRY THROUGH THE PERIOD
WITH MAX/MIN TEMPS CLIMBING TO SEASONAL OR JUST ABOVE SEASONAL
VALUES.

Yea, I just went out to the store with shorts/t-shirt. I was fine when the wind wasn't blowing, but it felt 10 degrees cooler when the wind blew.

Not sure where their station is for Jacksonville. but @ 7:30AM, it shows 43 for Jacksonville, yet JIA (NWS JAX) shows 33F.
It is 29F at my house, NWS JAX said it would remain above freezing, but that did not happen.

Winds beginning to veer to the ne...areas where the flow has become onshore are seeing scattered clouds from the atlantic.

Image shows exactly how far the onshore flow has penetrated inland on the east coast of the state..

Overall, about 10 deg warmer across the state tonight than last night...up to 20 deg warmer in some spots north closer to the coast that develop an onshore flow today. Below normal temps will be an increasingly distant memory this week (and beyond the time frame of the forecast below)....normal to above normal temps expected....esp with the nighttime lows.

NWS Miami still bidding farewell to even cold fronts approaching for at least the next week...if you factor in CPC Outlooks, that could possibly be extended quite a bit beyond that.....into Christmas week.

LONG TERM...TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...A RATHER LARGE AMPLITUDE AND
PERSISTENT M/U LVL RIDGE WILL DEVELOP OVER THE GULF OF MEX AND
EXTEND NEWD OVR WRN ATLC. THIS RIDGE WILL PRACTICALLY SHUT THE
DOOR TO ANY SYSTEM APPROACHING S. FL FROM THE NW BY PUSHING THE
POLAR JET WELL NORTH OF THE LOCAL AREA. AT THE SAME TIME WL KEEP
MOST OF THE PENINSULA UNDER MOD/STG SUBSIDENCE WITH DRY CONDITIONS
THROUGH THIS PERIOD.

Hopefully we can get some cooler weather by the weekend.

GFS hints at a possible break on
these conditions by day 7 (sunday) as the polar jet dives south
across the central portion of the country shoveling the ridge out
of the area. The European model (ecmwf) however, keeps the ridge (although weaker)
across the area through the entire extended period. Given the fact
that this is so far in the future, will not be considered in this
forecast package, and so the chances for rain, or any significant
change through this period, will be low, if any at all.

So far I've been about 6-8 degrees short of the predicted high today of 76. A couple spritzes here and there, but mostly clouds.

Some rain scattered across the area today, helping to keep temperatures
within a very narrow range of low 70s all day. With all these clouds
the temperature won't drop much tonight. Maybe 65 coldest.

I will be in Florida this weekend. It is going to be a BIG change going back to the warmth. After a day only in the teens today in OKC, the 70s in Florida are going to feel like an oven!
