Well at least we will be getting Northerly wind flow as opposed to SW flow from Mexico. I'm not sure if that's going to make a big difference in the temp.

It's pouring here this morning - lots of thunder too. Radar estimates over an inch. It's just simply amazing to see this much rain after so long :-)

:raincloud: :rain: :rain: :jump: :woo:

A couple of brief downpours, no thunder or lightning, probably less than 0.50" total so far. I'll take it when and where I can get it.

Radar suggests more rain for my lawn.

Dark skies at the Galleria...

Been raining at my house since about 5:00 am!!! Wife just called to say it is raining very hard once again. Great to see the ponds filling back up nearby. I just hope we do not have to wait another 6 weeks for some rain.

For some reason the radar estimates don't seem to be that great with this - I've had almost 3.5" but the radar estimate for me (using street-level on GR3) is 1.25"

Normally it's very close....go figure.

According to radar estimates, my area has seen around 4" since last night with most of that falling this morning!!!! The airport has picked up over 3.15" since this morning not including last night and just south of my area totals look to be over 6"!! This is EXACTLY what we needed and while I won't call it a drought buster yet it's certainly some grade A drought relief  .

They use a special algorithm to estimate rainfall from tropical systems, because of the smaller drops. The normal estimates are too low. But with abundant thunder and lightning, this isn't really tropical.

Did they get hail North of BPT last night?

Hail will contaminate the rainfall estimate and cause it to read too high.

More has come through and we are up to 1.1" now. Son says they have had very little in Cypress. Looks like it could be over for us unless more refires to our West, which is what has happened this am so far.

NE of Beaumont has gotten a lot of rain. Parts of Beaumont have gotten decent totals, as well as surrounding spots. Nada here! I went outside and walked through the grass to see if maybe I just missed it coming down, and couldn't tell if it had rained. If the ground isn't wet AT ALL, I can only assume that I got nothing or certainly no more than just a sprinkle if it isn't even noticeable.

It keeps missing me, although it's often really close like last night, when it knocked out my power, but didn't even rain here!

Outflows abound this afternoon. We've had some heating too - still some pockets of stable air out there but it looks like some scattered storms may fire-up between now and sunset.

That's because you didn't wash your car, water your lawn and do a rain dance. Do that and you could possibly get 4-6" and a high temp for the day of 80 like Bre and I did :ggreen:
