Nice little isolated shower just tracked over NW Arlington. Probably the hardest it's rained all week although it only lasted a few minutes.

Safe to say SA and DFW missed out on most of the rainfall with this event. Unfortunately that happens sometimes, and it especially sucks during bad droughts.

That looks a lot better than I expected. Earlier Tulsa was downplaying the wet pattern

Well I guess that's it for at least a week. EWX discussion mentions the subtropical high returning though not as hot as before, could be back at least in the mid 90s by next weekend. :double:

Is there a link for the other outlooks from the SPC in this format? Like, Wind, Hail, and Tornado threats?

I'm expecting temps to be around normal to slighlty above for the rest of September. Normal high/lows for mid Sept is still around 90/66 and this weeks forecast is 92/72 :ggreen:

I was in Lubbock from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. I hit a true GULLY WASHER north of Lampasas on Friday morning on my way up to Lubbock. I saw what was coming up a head with the line of scud clouds and slowed my speed. There were a couple cars passing me, then suddenly the rain started coming down in huge drops (almost like hail). The dropps got more intense until it was blinding. I put on my hazards, then the cars that passed me slowed down and put on their hazards. It was blinding even with the fast wipers going! I almost pulled over, but dropped to 40mph on a 75mph road. There were small torrents at the sides of the road, with brown grass from the heat and drought trying to soak it in.

Early Saturday morning around 3am, they got a complex of storms over my hotel. Caused some nuisance flooding. A local up there said it had rained every day for the last however many days(?). Didn't rain on Saturday. But there was standing water in places on several parts of the drive from Winters to Lubbock. On the drive back, that same area had so many rain lilies popping up at the based of the road cuts. Those rain lilly seeds are amazing how they can survive under the harshest heat and drought. Then when conditions are right, they sprout up. Tough plants!

I checked my gauge at home when I got back and I measured 1.5" if I did it right. The CoCoRaHS gauge 1" tube overflowed into the overflow tube. I emptied the inch, and poured what was in the overflow tube into the 1" tube through the funnel that is on there. That measured 0.5". So I THINK I got 1.5" from this event. Even though I've tried to keep it watered, it looks so much more healthy and lush now. The dry spots are gone and getting green. It was 67 this morning. I'll take it! :ggreen:

Dewpoints in the 40's for most of DFW now, heat indexes 3 to 4 degrees below actual temperature. 90 did not feel hot in the shade.

Speaking of Lubbock, some of my wife's relatives there said they got almost 5 inches of rain this last week. That's a ton of rain for that region of the South Plains, close to a third of their annual rainfall.

We got 5 plus inches here near Albany Texas over that same time and another good soaking Saturday morning. All that dead brown looking grass we had is turning green again. It’s crazy to see the difference from jus a few weeks ago.

The Albany ALBT2 site has reported 2.97 inches of rain so far this month through the 18th. That site is south of town at the water treatment plant. By the way, one of my grandfathers was born on a ranch on the Clear Fork of the Brazos northeast of town.
