I sure am. :cheesy: A high of 83 degrees with RH in the 30s here in Mobile, AL. It was a picture perfect August day made for golf. It doesn't get much better than that.

Yeah, NWS suggested that last week also and it never happened. I'll believe when the thermometer reads it!

The temps are nice here.....kind of unusual....and welcomed. We're usually cooking right now. The A/C is off....32 north latitude...above Pontchartrain and GOM. 79.3F at sunset.

Yeah Shoshana, me and my son watched that cell from northeast Travis County all the way down south ... and guess what? It moved east of my house! :x

I hope at least YOU got some rain. I got a rock.

We got rain, but not enough to even show up in the rain gauge. More like the clouds spit on us... or went Pffft!

edited to add:

I looked at the rain gauge closer up. We got around .15" which is enough to make up for not being able to use the sprinklers. We pro'bly never actually water enough to start with but we do try to save the trees and the foundation. Another big hackberry looks like it's drying up but it's not actually in our yard - so I can't get to it to water it. I hope it doesn't take out the fence when it falls. The grass is mostly toast.

OK, this is getting downright cruel. For the second night in a row, I've watched thunderstorm cells light up the radar in reds and yellows about 15-20 miles north of me ... move south and fizzle out, only to leave muggy air and clouds over southwest Austin.

I know you Houstonians talk of the Bear Creek Dome ... I think I live in the Travis Country (neighborhood in SW Austin) Dome.

Light show! Thunder!

And so far that's it. But there's a cell approaching from the NE that NWC says 90% chance of hail.....

Called the husband and told him to get himself and car home and in the garage!

Yeah, y'all might get some nice rain out of this up there. Me? Heh, I'm sure it'll disintegrate before it reaches southern Travis County.

Sounds like it might have been enough to soak the dust in the bottom of the rain guage.

By the way, here is the latest from the NOAA medium range forecast for the SC Tex area.

"THE MEDIUM RANGE MODEL SOLUTIONS ARE TRENDING AWAY FROM WHAT
LOOKED TO BE A RAIN-FAVORABLE PATTERN DEVELOPING NEXT WEEK. THE
00Z GFS AND ECMWF KEEP OUR AREA ON THE PERIPHERY OF THE UPPER
HIGH...WHICH WOULD ALLOW FOR SOME MOISTURE CREEP INTO OUR AREA AND
SOME DAYTIME HEATING (OR SEABREEZE)-TRIGGERED CONVECTION...BUT
NOTHING LIKE THE TROPICAL SURGE OF MOISTURE THAT WAS ADVERTISED IN
EARLIER MODEL RUNS. THE 00Z GFSMOS MAX TEMPS FOR NEXT WEEK LOOK
WAY TOO LOW GIVEN PROJECTED 500MB PRESSURE HEIGHTS AND RECENT
OBSERVED TEMPS. OUR MAX TEMP NUMBERS WILL BE UP TO 6 DEGREES ABOVE
00Z GFSMOS FOR NEXT WEEK...BUT STILL SHOW A TREND DOWN CLOSER TO
NORMAL."

The models don't know how to handle the juggernaut this drought really is. Its amazing these things can break at all. Time to call the X-men and see what storm can do :)
