Yeah the thunder is going back and forth - may as well wait it out. Rather that then wake up without a roof over my head.
Can you tell I have no tornado experience?

Do not feel bad, I've never seen one with my own eyes, either...so those storms kind of made me hit excitement mode (adrenaline, not destruction mode). 997.0 millibars here on my weather station. Was 996.5ish earlier.

Here is my wall cloud. It had persistence as I watched it, it did not change shape like a scud would, and it stayed attached to the cloud base. The only thing "missing" was rotation:

Name and hometown information on the internet? Not sure I'd do that.

Looks like they are dying down, also. Hope that holds up and brings an end to today's severe weather.

At this rate, could these cells hold up to Bermuda?

Tornado watch finally dropped from MHX's CWA. 20 minutes early, hopefully that is everything.

NWS Tulsa released their findings: it was ONE tornado that went across Ottawa, Newton and Barry Counties, killing 20. Rating remains EF4 (that was the rating in both Picher and Neosho).

IMO, the EF4 rating in Picher may be generous; being a hazardous waste site and a condemned town, the buildings may very well be not as structurally sound.

...TORNADO SURVEYED IN LONOKE...PRAIRIE AND ARKANSAS COUNTIES...

A TEAM FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LITTLE ROCK SURVEYED
TORNADO DAMAGE ACROSS PORTIONS OF LONOKE...PRAIRIE AND ARKANSAS
COUNTIES TODAY...INCLUDING THE DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED IN STUTTGART
SATURDAY EVENING.

A TORNADO TRACKED FROM 3.5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HUMNOKE /LONOKE
COUNTY/ TO 3.4 MILES NORTHEAST OF ALMYRA /ARKANSAS COUNTY/. THIS
INCLUDED THE AREA IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE CITY OF STUTTGART...
WHERE THE TORNADO TRACKED FOR ABOUT 2 MILES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS.
THE PATH LENGTH WAS 21.3 MILES LONG.

THE TORNADO HAS BEEN RATED AN EF3 ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE. NINE
PEOPLE SUSTAINED INJURIES IN STUTTGART. ALL BUT ONE OF THE INJURED
HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL. WITHIN THE CITY OF
STUTTGART...APPROXIMATELY 200 HOMES AND 50 BUSINESSES SUSTAINED
SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. A NURSING HOME...SEVERAL CHURCHES AND SCHOOL
BUILDINGS WERE ALSO DAMAGED.

AN INTERESTING NOTE...SEVERAL CAMERA CREWS FROM THE DISCOVERY
CHANNEL ACCOMPANIED STORM CHASERS THAT FOLLOWED THE TORNADIC STORM
DURING ITS LIFECYCLE. AN ADDITIONAL CAMERA CREW FILMED AT THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN LITTLE ROCK TO DOCUMENT WARNING
OPERATIONS.

ALSO...ONE OF THE CHASE TEAMS WAS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA
WHICH INCLUDED THE DOPPLER ON WHEELS /DOW/. THE DOW IS A PORTABLE
RESEARCH DOPPLER RADAR MOUNTED ON A TRUCK USED TO STUDY SMALL SCALE
FEATURES OF TORNADIC STORMS. THE DOW SYSTEM MANAGED TO OBTAIN DATA
FROM THE STORM SYSTEM AS IT MOVED THROUGH STUTTGART.

So with the OK/MO EF4 that makes.. what 5 this year? Four on Super Tuesday plus one yesterday? Although I personally think the northern Arkansas tornado on 2/5 was EF5, not EF4.

You don't know anything about that region.. I do. My dad was born and raised in the area. My grandparents lived on a farm just to the east of that area when I was kid. They moved from there in 1974, I think. The problem is in the ground and water... The area was mined for years. The ground and water have been polluted with lead and zinc. The ground has been undermined so it is sinking in places. There were still 800 people living in town when the tornado struck. If you go over to the CNN website, you would see a video of a home that a woman lost in Picher. It did not look structurally unsound before the tornado hit it. I know someone who has relatives who still live there. The town has not been comdemned yet. The process to buy out people has been slow.

From the pics and videos I have seen, I am not surprised that the damage has been rated EF4.

Well, watching it via GR2AE after it hit the Neosho area, I did see rotation values that put it about the same level as the Enterprise, AL storm from Feb. 2007. What really freaked me out was that the TVS icon turned a deep red, meaning there was plenty of high rotation readings for that to happen. Last time I saw that, it was the Greensburg, KS storm (although the values were much higher in the Greensburg storm).
