Great...

Salt Lake City set a record high low of 77F yesterday (the 25th). It appears to be the latest that has ever occurred (although that's not explicitly mentioned). It also tied the August record with at least two previous days - August 1, 2007 and August 13, 2003.

excellent bobrulz!! The original record for Aug 25 was 73F set in 1877!! Great record to break! WHile it is for sure the latest ever so warm at night ( previous Aug 13 2003) for Salt Lake City.... the record for the warmest August night remains in tact, I did some research, the record is actually 78F set Aug 3 1934.

Arrghhh, I cannot take it anymore. We were out today and I swear it was like a blast furnace. The SUV temperature gauge showed 113.

i just cannot imagine it, when it appears things were getting slightly better..now its gotten worse again LOL
i see the NWS says perhaps by wednesday this coming week..that temps will dip below the 100F degree mark in Houston and stay down for several days thereafter...so maybe the end is finally coming .... well summer will end officially on wednesday night so it has to come to an end one way or the other :)

I hear ya!!! We went out to eat at 5:30 and it was still 104.5f. When I was out earlier my SUV thermometer, after being in the shade all day, read 108f as I started it for the first time today.  We went above 100 before 12:30 pm and didn't go below it till at least sometime after 6:30 pm. When we got home around 8:30 pm the thermometer was still reading 95.5f and it was almost dark already.

Houston Intercontinental TX didnt make the list either today, but that doesn;t mean it wasn;t hot..it still hit 101F, the 30th day out of a possible 31 not to have at least hit 100F ( the sole exception was Aug 25 with 95F)
The existing record for Aug 31 is 107F set in 2000.
