Just as I suspected, the storms fell apart when they reached western Harris County. Just light rain here.

Not just western Harris though...the whole southern/eastern flank of the line collapsed due to decreased surface convergence.

Thanks for the clarification. :-)

Any ideas as to development in this area later this afternoon?

An additional .40" this evening. It's like a swamp in my yard.

Those storms looked like they were going to dump on us, but we didn't get much out of them. 0.20" for the day. They definitely rebuilt as they headed your way. I guess your dome is broken.

Yes, they did intensify as they crossed over me. It looked like some hail even started to fall (radar est.) just north of me with plenty of lightning. Definitely no 'dome' over here any more

"The Neenyo" has arrived (only a few people may still get that lol)...

Actually, the Dome held until about 4:30. Then we got about 5 minutes of the gray curtain that held 3/4" of rain. The sun came out and turned Bear Creek into a sauna.

And the fun times still roll on. At least my 7 mile run was not quite so bad as yesterday. Hyrdration during the day was the key.

ADDED ISOLATED SHOWERS TO THE SOUTHWESTERN COUNTIES OF THE
FORECAST AREA FOR TODAY. OTHERWISE...TEMPERATURES STILL LOOK TO
REACH THE LOWER 90S OVER THE WESTERN AND SOUTHWESTERN COUNTIES AND
THE MID TO UPPER 80S OVER THE NORTHEASTERN SET OF COUNTIES. THE
DAY WILL FEEL LIKE A WARM AND MUGGY SUMMER DAY RATHER THAN ONE
FROM THE FIRST OF OCTOBER. WITH DEWPOINTS REMAINING IN THE LOWER
TO MID 70S...CAN EXPECT THE HEAT INDEX TO BE NEAR 100 ALONG AND
SOUTH OF A LINE FROM MADISON TO CONROE TO SHEPHERD. A FEW AREAS
SOUTHWEST OF THE HOUSTON METRO AREA WILL LIKELY EXPERIENCE HEAT
INDICES APPROACHING 103 DURING THE MID AND LATE AFTERNOON TODAY.

And they give us this information:

HERE ARE THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS...

TODAY (WEDNESDAY 10/14) TOMORROW (THURSDAY 10/15)
CLL.......95 SET IN 1910............96 SET IN 1910
IAH.......92 SET IN 1954............92 SET IN 1931
HOU.......93 SET IN 1954............92 SET IN 1947
GLS.......90 SET IN 1885............88 SET IN 2007

You can see the front approaching on the Central Texas radar. Looks like one gorgeous weekend ahead!

Nice temp drops behind the front as it nears Austin. N TX temps are in the low 60's...

Front is through my area. Winds from the N and NE now. Not a drop of rain. Temps not dropping much so brunt of the cool air is still well to our North.

What a beautiful day. All the windows are open and will likely stay that way through the weekend. Good bye High Electric Bills. :D

If we asked for a more beautiful day than today we would be asking the impossible. Can we please just keep it like this forever with rain thrown in as needed?

As a runner, I second that emotion. I had one of the best days running I have had in months.
