Three leading supercells in TN are still very strong and continue to likely produce long track and strong tornados. Overall trend should be towards weakening as the cells enter a more stable environment, but they've been cycling the last couple of hours and don't show any imminent sign of weakening.

THE MID SOUTH IS THE MIDST OF A MAJOR SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK.
ROTATING SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PRODUCED TORNADOES IN THE
MEMPHIS METROPOLITAN AREA...JACKSON...NEAR OXFORD...AND MCNAIRY
AND SAINT FRANCIS COUNTIES.

THE MEMPHIS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SUSTAINED DAMAGE AS WELL AS THE
HICKORY RIDGE MALL. IN JACKSON...THERE ARE REPORTS OF COLLAPSED
ROOFS IN TWO WOMEN/S DORMITORIES AT UNION UNIVERSITY WITH PEOPLE
TRAPPED. SO FAR...THERE HAS ONLY BEEN ONE CONFIRMED INJURY REPORT
NEAR OXFORD.

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE MID SOUTH THROUGH EARLY
WEDNESDAY MORNING. THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF TORNADOES...
LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WITH THE PASSAGE OF THIS FRONT.

WE ASK THAT ALL MID SOUTH EMERGENCY MANAGERS...MEDIA PARTNERS AND
TRAINED SPOTTERS CONTACT US WITH REPORTS OF SEVERE WEATHER IN

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 36...37...CONTINUES.

PRIMARY SUPERCELL CLUSTER IN WARM ADVECTION REGIME NEAR/NORTHEAST OF
SOUTHERLY LOW-LEVEL JET CORE WILL SHIFT EAST/NORTHEASTWARD TOWARD
THE UPPER OHIO VALLEY WITHIN NEXT FEW HOURS. BUT...SEVERE THREAT
WILL PERSIST FROM THE CONFLUENCE OF THE OHIO/MISSISSIPPI
RIVERS...SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY...UNTIL
PRE-FRONTAL SQUALL PASSES DURING THE 03-06Z. BY 06Z...THE COLD
FRONT IS EXPECTED TO SURGE INTO THE VICINITY OF THE RIVER...TO THE
SOUTH OF A SLOWLY DEEPENING SURFACE LOW MIGRATING INTO SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS/INDIANA. PRE-FRONTAL SQUALL LINE MAY BE NEAR OR JUST EAST

TORNADO IN THE MORRIS CHAPEL AREA. HOUSES DAMAGED WITH
PEOPLE TRAPPED.


Marmaduke was virtually destroyed on April 2, 2006.

Significant damage at Union University and in Jackson confirmed.

Also, is the Memphis Tower Cam tornado uploaded anywhere yet?

1 fatality confirmed by Sheriff's Department in Fayette County, TN. (I didn't know they had a tornado? I knew they were warned though.)

People are still trapped on the east side of Memphis.

That might have been due to straight-line winds.

Tornado Warning for Lee and Phillips County in Arkansas.. again.

Also new TOR for Crittenden and Mississippi counties.

Memphis Commercial-Appeal: 1 death in Somerville, MS, may have been due to straight-line winds as there haven't been any tornado reports there.

On Channel 5 (WMC) they said pavement was off the road near Oxford.. that may have been overdramatic though.

Good rotation SW of Nashville in Hickman County.
