I can't remember any other major outbreaks like this focused on the nighttime hours...

Looking at the latest meso discussion, I think the threat in Kentucky and Tennessee will persist for quite some time.

...MULTIPLE DISCRETE TORNADIC SUPERCELLS HAVE EVOLVED ACROSS THE
REGION...

00Z SOUNDING FROM LZK SUGGESTS HIGH QUALITY LAPSE RATE/INSTABILITY
ENVIRONMENT IS SPREADING DOWNSTREAM ACROSS THE TN VALLEY WHERE
MULTIPLE DISCRETE TORNADIC SUPERCELLS PERSIST. SEVERAL OF THESE
STORMS ARE LONG-LIVED AND HAVE YET TO EXHIBIT ANY SIGNIFICANT
WEAKENING. OVER THE LAST FEW HOURS...DIAGNOSTIC TRENDS ARE SHOWING
RAPID RECOVERY INTO MIDDLE TN WHERE SIG TOR VALUES ARE NOW
APPROACHING 8. TORNADIC THREAT REMAINS HIGH ACROSS THIS REGION FOR
THE NEXT FEW HOURS...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONG TORNADOES.

You are absolutely right about that. We had J Squared chasers out there yesterday, but this is no time for chasing now. Your best bet is to stay indoors and stay informed.

No problem! I tried it earlier but they weren't covering the weather yet. How far east will this supercell line get?

We're going to have a large collection of streams to work from when the next outbreak hits...

The 2 cells to the NE of memphis are now also showing TVS signatures. One has just been TOR warned and it looks like it's turning into a strong cell. Unlike most of the other cells, it is unobstructed to the south so it should stay healthy too.

I was eight miles outside of Lowry City MO when storms rolled thru this morning between 3 AM and 6:30 AM. It was very nosiy!

I watched storms form off to my east as we drove home today.

Holding at 43 reports...Seems to be cooling off some from 17 over 3 hours now down to 12. Wind reports are starting to over the hail to. Maybe that mean that these thunderstorms are going through there later stages?

Lots of severe weather across central and eastern AR so I am not suprised about a new tornado watch for that area.

We would need to get 2,500 tornadoes this year, to have a 2005 like hurricane season like tornadoe season.
