Cell in south central IN has a very nice (but small) couplet on it now . . .

You can actually see a bit of a so-called "finger of death" present in the hook (that'd be the little red sliver visible aloft in that area - such a feature is common with somewhat well-formed tornados, but is not a guarantee of such).

UNTIL 500 AM EDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 60 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF

A spotter that is chasing that Nappanee storm has reported "debris all over US 6 east of nappanee", with nearby LSRs reporting damages squad cars, several homes damaged, and some injuries.

I know . . . they've been edging the eastern border of that 30% wind westward over the past two days, and the way they describe it we'll be getting some pre-frontal line of convection mid-afternoon, so maybe we'll be saved by some convective debris blocking our peak heating and wasting the little instability we have . . . but then again, it's always interesting to see things hit close to home. I haven't seen a good severe event from up here yet, and either tomorrow or next Tuesday night are both looking pretty good at this point. 8-)
