...DENSE SEA FOG WILL AFFECT COASTAL LOCATIONS THIS EVENING...

DENSE SEA FOG WILL AFFECT THE COASTAL SECTION OF PINELLAS...
MANATEE...AND NORTHERN SARASOTA COUNTIES THROUGH THIS EVENING. IN
PINELLAS COUNTY...FOG WILL AFFECT AREAS WEST OF HIGHWAY 19 SOUTH
OF CLEARWATER. FOR MANATEE AND SARASOTA COUNTIES...THE FOG WILL
MAINLY AFFECT ANNA MARIA ISLAND AND LONGBOAT KEY FROM SIESTA KEY
NORTHWARD. THE FOG WILL ALSO MOVE INTO NORTHWEST BRADENTON.
VISIBILITIES IN THESE AREAS WILL DROP BELOW 1/4 MILE. MOTORISTS
SHOULD SLOW DOWN! ALLOW EXTRA DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND THE
VEHICLES IN FRONT OF YOU...AND ALSO ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH
YOUR DESTINATION. THIS FOG WILL LIKELY PERSIST THROUGH MOST OF THE
EVENING...AND MAY PUSH FARTHER INLAND WITH TIME.

Started pouring here about 6am - and it's still pouring!!!

Update: Rained for about 45 mins total. The downpour only lasted for about 25 mins.

Drum roll please......1.25"

Crossing my fingers for some more rain when the front comes through later today. :wink:

Yeah, I was sitting at my computer at about 1 this morning, just logged off the s2k chat and I thought I heard rain. I was kinda surprised, and I walked outside, and sure enough it was raining. Pretty hard too... Just a freak shower.

It doesn't appear any record lows will be challenged this week...amazing how cold it has 'really' gotten this time of year:

I wouldn't bet against some of the inland areas of the Panhandle reaching the upper teens, they get much colder than the coast.

Yikes - check this out.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 49. North northwest wind between 21 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25. North northeast wind between 13 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Teens and lower 20s for north Florida, mid 20s in central Florida and upper 20s and 30s into south Florida (with the keys even flirting with the 40s). Wow! This looks to be one impressive cold shot for the sunshine state.
