Yeah can't get rid of the rain chances here now into next week when it originally looked extremely hot again. Maybe we can keep that trend

I rather have nonstop rain chances over extreme heat

Is SOI still going negative? Looks like May was our first negative SOI month since mid-2020

So nice to see some tropical downpours across the southern half of Texas today. Picked up over 0.50 inch so far here in northwest Houston.

Interesting that Denver (15.22") has now passed DFW (14.36") for YTD rainfall. They had a crazy wet June - 6.10". If only we could get the upper levels to cooperate and send some NW flow MCS rains in our direction.

Picked up a surprise 0.98” last night which gives us 16.81” for the year despite having crunchy dead grass.

Seeing some 107 to 110 temps in long run GFS. Go away. Not awful in short term. End of June was muggier/hotter. A little rain last night in N Dallas but not enough.

Had 1.73" yesterday, heaviest rain since May 14th, and it's raining again today. Getting tired of all this cold and wet weather. Let's get that heat going again! :firedevil:

Expecting this map to get worse before it improves.

We are going to Ruidoso, NM next week. Thought we would escape the heat but looks like nope. Ugh. Still 90s.

It's funny despite this great pattern and hype Tulsa and even worse the worst drought areas towards Kansas has barely gotten any rain the last couple of days when the models were targeting them. Go figure. The clouds have kept temps down which is still a big win considering but yeah

Feels absolutely incredible here for July and there's still no signs of extreme heat with another big front or something next weekend... the long range heat has yet to really verify. Days are getting shorter guys

:uarrow: Yeah the pattern for the next 2 weeks across TX is about as bad as it gets here. Nonstop highs near 100 with little to no rain expected over much of the stage. I hate summer.

Yeah, it’s terrible. Probably no relief from the tropics either. I believe everything will remain well east of Texas this hurricane season.
