Looks like there is quite a lot of rain yet to come for the area, won't help the flooding issues.

Justin, do you have some rainfall totals so far from the areas being affected?

We were having lunch on the south side of the island at Tradewinds and at about 12.30ish it started pouring down the rain. Wow is all I can say. The lightning over the Caribbean was spectacular to say the least.

For those on the island. Power has been restored to the north side of the island. The south side and Pilon was still out when we left there about 20 minutes ago. 997 has 3 trees down but one has already been cut apart and moved to the side of the road and the 2 others are doable. ALL of the quebradas are over there banks. The worst is the bridge at Papa Kike's old tire shop. We were not sure if we could make it but we did.

Our quebrada is overflowing its banks by about 5' and our pool is obviously flooded.

We have received 1.93" so far and it is eerily looking at the radar, it is starting to look a lot like Jeanne in 2004 when we received 33 inches in a day and a half.

More later.

Wow! Stay safe everyone in the islands!!

Suspicious lightnings are coming in my area, one has just bright my face nicely! Thunder is rumbling too. Clouds are becoming menacing, sky is very grey, tstorms should begin to spread my area. I will continue to keep your informed if anything happens.

Let me clarify something.

Our quebrada is approximately 30 feet lower than where our house is so we are not in any way threatened by that.

Our acre is bordered on 2 sides by quebradas and when they join to create 1 that flows to the beach and into the ocean it backs up and floods because there is not enough width in the final creek to hold the water because it is only about 12-15' wide and has approx. 20' banks of rock on each side.

Picture an inverted Y.

We still have light rain with a total right now of 2.17". If you add that to yesterday's we have a total of 3.47".

Luis, look at our local area radar and close in around Cayey. Do you see that swirl? What do you think that is?

Thanks Karen for all these nice infos :) we other islanders we appreciate frankly! But the situation is really impressive with all that water under your head my friend! Yeah good catch Karen, i saw that suspicious swirl but i'd prefered to wait the analysis "de los talentos de la caso": Cycloneye :) , etc. Be safe and dry. Looks like the southern side of this twave is flaring up a bit this afternoon on my area. Lightnings and thunder are making a steady "show" just in front of my face. Hope that the rain won't add to this show for now...
