WEST CENTRAL WELD COUNTY IN NORTHEAST COLORADO

* UNTIL 1215 PM MDT

* AT 1152 AM MDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A LARGE TORNADO 5
MILES SOUTHEAST OF WINDSOR...OR 7 MILES WEST OF GREELEY. THIS STORM
WAS MOVING NORTHWEST AT 29 MPH.

* THIS TORNADO WILL MOVE THROUGH WINDSOR AND NORTHEAST FORT COLLINS.

* OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
TIMNATH...SEVERANCE...AND WEST CENTRAL GREELEY.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING
SITUATION. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS LARGE AND DESTRUCTIVE

Except in tropical cyclones (which that is common due to the counter-clockwise circulation), I can't remember the last time I saw a significant tornado moving northwest.

Yeah I was going to say that TS this supercell that has the tornado on it has a very impressive hook on it so not surprising a powerful tube is on the ground.

Also its early for such developments really, I think this is going to be a very busy day!

I think Idaho has got it bad as well looking at the radar here. But the storm in question is getting stronger from what I can tell as it heads Northwest.

Looks like the tornado will clip the NE part of Fort Collins.

Chad Mayers on CNN called it a "large Greensburg type tornado". Those are dangerous words to say on tv without getting any reports of damage.

If we can get large violent tornadoes with that kind of conditions, only God knows what will happen when the dryline advances...

I sure hope its not as large nor as powerful as that sort of system but the synoptic set-up does appear to support such a tornado. i'm just praying it didn't really get Windsor at all.

Just hope there aren't any other towns in the way...and yeah to travel NW seems to be a really interesting direction for the tornado to move!

Its on the NE side of the low. Thats why its moving NW.

The synoptics of those supercells kinda remind me of the Edmonton tornado on July 31, 1987 (a strong F4 that killed 27)
