I just took a bottle of ice water and a thermometer and put myself in a parked car sitting in the sun. I closed to door fast so the heat could not get out. Let me tell you, the thermometer got up to 50 C (real temp) within 3 minutes and when I breathed the air through my nose, it felt like fire. It was unreal. I had to get out of there fast because the thermometer might have exploded since it's non-electric. I drank water every 5 seconds in that car. I would guess you would faint within 18 minutes being in there without water.

I don't think anyone should try what I just did. It's almost dangerous even for a few minutes.

Dangerous? it's deadly!

Clouds have moved in and dropped it to 99, heat index peaked at 114 and the temp peaked at 101

The local forecast on the weather channel for tommorow I quote

"Mostly sunny, near record high temperatures, high 101. heat index near 115"

And also calling for 99 on thursday

Those days where the minimum is over 80 are the worst. Nothing ever seems to be able to cool down, even with AC, when you get a stretch of those.

It's cooled down a bit due to clouds here - severe thunderstorms to the north and east.

Thermometer now reads 93 - down from 99 at 3:00 pm.
