Possible violent tornado (F5?) according to WHNT. Maybe an exagerration, but it emphasizes the perilous state.

I doubt they cuooold have any indications on intensity. Probably best to scare anyone into taking cover by overhyping it though.. any tornado can be deadly...

Safe by Redstone Arsenal and Airport. Quarter hail...I think I may have seen the cloud...but I dont know. It got really gusty...and they say the tornado went a few blocks sout of my local and there was little wind damage where I am at. So I think huntsville was spared an F4...maybe F1-2

Hard to say on intensity, remember a large rotating system can create localized F4 to F5 damage while having a signature of a F1-3ish storm.

Can you spot the tornado? Image from GRLevel3 from Huntsville just recently in the last 30 minutes or so:

From what they are saying, sounds like it may not have truly been on the groun...maybe a strong funnel, but sounds like there was little damage other than hail.

I just talked to my sister in law. They live south of Huntsville. The tornado missed them by 1/2 mile!!
