is the DFW area still going to be under the gun today?

It's still a part of the main line and cold front. It's rushing over, right now it's in the 50s right next door in Wise county

IMO, the threat for tornadic activity from the DFW area on north and west is decreasing by the minute with the outflow boundary/cold front about to sweep through that area.

Agreed this is quickly becoming a squall line threat.

Yeah, it does look like the significant tornado threat will end up further east near the arklatex region. Nonetheless things look to be gradually heating up along the boundary as it approaches dfw. Does seem to look more like a hail wind threat, but I dont think we can rule out an isolated tornado just yet.

I do not agree that this holds true for my part of the state. Given the expected back-building nature of the storms and possible squall line and that we're prone to the "tail-end charlie" scenario, I remained quite concerned for the south central Texas area.

You guys down there have more heating to go thus more opportunity for cells. The short range guidance has been poor with the outflow/cold front. But that outflow is rushing south quickly too already nearing Brownwood and San Angelo. If anything pops up it will likely have the shot but so far storms haven't initiated ahead of the front as modeled.

I'm sure y'all have probably seen this but reports coming in of high-wind damage in/near Denton and Decatur. Wind gusts over 70 mph.

Just got the svr warning for our county. I'll let you know how conditions are. Sounds like high winds are what I have to look forward to.
Edited because I'm sick and typed watch instead of warning.
