Just had quite the storm in Houston. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and very heavy rain. I'm trying to push it west to SA and Austin!

Storms spit out an outflow and mostly stayed east of DFW

Wind has picked up here. Some lightning and thunder. Looks like it is getting ready to rain here. I'll post update later.

We had a solid line of storms headed towards us and then they started to weaken about 20-30 miles to the northeast of us. Then we had an outflow boundary that pushed through. Temps cooled off a good 15 degrees and winds picked up to about 30-40mph..no rain here. Then just 2 miles to our south the storms exploded again. So basically the storms jumped us here and all we got was a wind storm :x

We got a steady light to moderate at times rain. 0.25 out of it. Something, but mostly a wind and thunder event. Dropped from 96 to 80 degrees, which was nice, but unimpressive in the rain department. Hoping for better totals by Tuesday or Wednesday, otherwise, no telling when we'll see rain again. These outflow daytime heat driven storms are unpredictable.

Well, at least you all have had decent rains recently. Not so much down here.

After trending wetter, the models have started trending much drier for Texas, esp. north and central Texas. Hopefully, that is just temporary and the "wetter" pattern returns as we move into August.

100 degree days are becoming the norm for those of us in south central Texas. We hit 103 degrees yesterday. We've had triple digit highs for 11 of the 15 days this month.

You are correct Portastorm. Northeast Texas is sitting on and Island while everyone else has been hitting 100+ frequently, its becoming a hot summer for y'all. At some point its bound to get us too with law of averages.

The highest temperature so far this summer for Texarkana has been 94 degrees. The forecast for this week has us getting no higher than the mid 90's. We are also about 3" above normal for rainfall for June and July combined. Outside of the high humidity, it has been a fairly good summer so far.

Latest from the Weather Channel. I don't know how much I believe it since they tend to update their seasonal forecasts weekly.

Barring some unforeseen rain, late this week we will likely collect a string of 100s

My parent's house on the north side of SA finally got lucky yesterday! They got about 1.3 inches, which is the first time they had a good storm in months. We're quite thankful! :D

This is the first time I've actually seen 100s on the Euro meteogram(July 25-26). GFS gets close next weekend and then next week is a lot of 100s.
