Rain would be nice, if it wasn't going to be uncomfortably chilly to go along with it. Talk about a ruined weekend-So many festivals, etc planned and I probably won't leave my house now, because of the chill.

I'm sincerely sorry you are suffering.

Fortunately for me, we've gotten past the supremely evil and wicked juniper/mountain cedar pollen season, so my level of suffering has dropped off quite a bit. I can actually go outside and not die within minutes.

Looks like snow is on the table for northern TX Sunday morning. Best chances along Red River, but chances exist down to I-20.

Was wondernig why it's so hazy outside right now. Turns out part of it is a 300mb upper level jet, and the other part is west Texas dust. Nice. :cheesy:

Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED
National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio TX
1031 AM CDT Thu Apr 11 2019

.UPDATE...
We have updated the forecast to account for recent observational
trends, including an uptick in high level cloud cover. An upper level
jet centered at 300mb along with sufficient moisture will bring a
thicker layer of high level clouds to the region today. With the
increase in cloud cover, we did opt to reduce afternoon highs
slightly. However, we could still see some decent afternoon warming
given the dry air and filtered sunshine. Otherwise, a fairly stout
Pacific front is moving through the area. We are seeing some much
drier air moving in quickly from the northwest behind the front. The
most pronounced drying is noted along the Rio Grande plains where 14Z
obs showed a dew point difference of 41 degrees between Eagle Pass
and Carrizo Springs. A step outside also reveals some hazy conditions
in place due to suspended dust, courtesy of west Texas.

Could be a pretty big weather day on Saturday for some of eastern Texas. The atmosphere has a volatile look to it with ample instability and shear, and wherever convection fires in the open warm sector will likely be accompanied by rotating updrafts.

12z models suck for the southern half of texas for the next 1-2 weeks. It’s a shame we have to wait this long after one rain event in 3 months while the E keeps getting hit and hit and hit. Rant over.

The I-35 corridor averages 1/2 to 1/3 of the rainfall that most of the SE gets so get used to it haha. Central TX rain tends to come in infrequent dumps also so even with an average rainfall around 30" most of that will fall in just a few events annually.

what a difference a day makes... struggling to stay above 60 here after 90 yesterday. This front seems to be bigger than they thought? They had us near 70 last night

This is why I said a couple days ago that most of Texas looks dry for the next couple weeks. NE quadrant of the state is where you want to live if you want to experience frequent weather events.
