* UNTIL WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* AT 8:30 AM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 27.0 FEET.

* MAJOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.

* FLOOD STAGE IS 23.0 FEET.

* FORECAST...THE COTTONWOOD CREEK IS CRESTING AND WILL BEGIN FALLING
BY EARLY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THE COTTONWOOD CREEK WILL FALL BELOW
FLOOD STAGE MID WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACT...AT 27 FEET...NOBLE AVENUE IS CLOSED HOURS BEFORE THE CREST
ARRIVES...AND ANY CROSSING OF COTTONWOOD CREEK FROM EAST TO WEST
MUST THEN BE BY BOAT. PERSONS IN SOUTH GUTHRIE WEST OF THE CREEK
CAN EVACUATE ONLY BY ROUTES TO THE WEST. MANY AREAS IN TOWN WEST OF
THE RAILROADS COULD SUFFER LIFE-THREATENING CURRENTS AND DEPTHS
NEAR 7 FEET. RURAL FLOOD PLAIN AREAS NEAR GUTHRIE COULD SEE SIMILAR
DEPTHS.

* FLOOD HISTORY...THIS CREST COMPARES TO THE PREVIOUS CREST STAGE OF
26.4 FEET ON AUGUST 20...2007

ITS TRIBUTARIES FROM PARTS OF PLATTE COUNTY INTO COLFAX COUNTY.
IN DODGE COUNTY...BESIDES FLOODING ALONG THE ELKHORN RIVER...LOCAL
FLOODING IS ALSO LIKELY OCCURRING ALONG ELKHORN TRIBUTARIES IN
DUE TO WATER BACKING UP OR FLOWING INTO THEM.

* LOCAL FLOODING WAS REPORTED NEAR MONROE...SCHUYLER AND FROM AROUND
WINSLOW AND NICKERSON SOUTHEAST TO EAST OF FREMONT.

THE WARNED AREA INCLUDES HIGHWAY 81 IN NEBRASKA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS
110 AND 136...ALTHOUGH AS OF TUESDAY MORNING HIGHWAY 81 WAS REOPENED.

THE WARNED AREA INCLUDES HIGHWAY 275 IN NEBRASKA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS
124 AND 140.

THE WARNED AREA INCLUDES HIGHWAY 77 IN NEBRASKA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS
