Reports are now coming in from Pearland of damage at the Walmart and area near it from this storm. Public reported a funnel cloud with law enforcement confirming damage to roofs in the area with a lot of debris on the roads in the area. There is no official confirmation of the funnel cloud/tornado as of this time.
Here in W. Houston it has calmed down considerably with some thunder still being heard and light rain on and off.

My aunt and uncle lost their shed and had some light damage to their house in Nacogdoches, TX. Not sure the timing on it but I assume it was this morning.

The Pearland damage was confirmed by NWS as an EF0 tornado. I ended up with 2.08" of rain out of this system. Looks like the next 7 days should be pretty nice, especially the weekend. Still no major cold intrusions on the horizon.

KBMT said five reported tornadoes touched down in parts of Southeast Texas, taking down trees and damaging homes. From what I understand, the NWS hasn't confirmed if all or any of the damage came from tornadoes yet, but is supposed to do that today.

I ended up with right about 3 inches of rain, but other locations got quite a bit more. Many underpasses and some service roads in Beaumont were flooded and impassable, along with minor street flooding in many other areas. City buses stopped running until the water receded. There were some power outages in the area, but overall, not too bad. A man had to be rescued from the Neches River, though.

There was a ton of thunder and lightning yesterday... a lot of CG. I got blinded by a very close lightning strike when I was at the post office. The simultaneous thunder was VERY loud!

There were some other reported funnels/touchdowns in the metro which they will be checking today also. The only other confirmed so far that I am aware of in SE TX was in Brenham.

Received about 1.50" yesterday which brings us to 6.69" for the month which will be above normal. Let's see if we can continue this trend in 2012 and end the two year drought for good!

We got some decent rain over here too. Now check out my current forecast!

Btw, the drought in SE TX has been downgraded to only Severe. It's pretty wet around here, though.

Over 2 inches of rain so far today/tonight and it's currently pouring. NWS upped tonight to 90% as it's rained much of the night and more on the way. It would appear the drought is coming to an end. We've gotten a lot of rain recently and it was really wet around here even before today.
