Weather geek and a storm spotter in West Austin. Not a degreed meteorologist. Big snow fan. Love rain and cold! Despise heat!
Re: Texas Summer 2018
A bit of good news for us Metroplexers, cloud cover has kept temps down to 91 at 1 o'clock. Small victories.

I just want a nice cool fall for once, it's been awhile since one of those after top warmest of the past several years. It can be hot in early August, just bring those good fronts by the Equinox. Rain would be nice too.
Indeed I'd gladly trade a hot August for a real fall havent had one since I've been here
I think you'll need to change your expectation of a "real fall" living up here. It's not the same as B'ham/Anniston, sweet-home-Alabama.

Nice changes on the Euro today. Back to how it was a couple of days ago. Southern half of the state looks decent for rain for the next couple weeks.

DFW had a low this morning of 86F. That ties the highest "minimum" ever recorded at DFW airport (2011) IF we don't fall below that number by midnight.
The high was 99.

oh I know things are different here... but I'm pretty sure every year since 2014 there has been record highs in October/November(who can forget last year the first ever 90s in November etc.) Yeah it's warmer here, but that was still records for Dallas...

Re: Texas Summer 2018
Pretty good agreement between the Euro EPS and GEFS that the ridge will stay anchored in the SW in the longer range. Temps will moderate to near normal but that ridge position should keep any record heat off to the West and allow for disturbances to round the ridge and bring occasional rain chances. Once we hit mid-August, Climo starts to slowly work in our favor.

Re: Texas Summer 2018
Still only 0.19" of rain so far for DFW in July and 1.46" for the summer so far. 20 days of 100F, today may be the 21st if we get there making it the most since 2013 when there was 28.

The operational guidance are showing a tropical cyclone coming in the direction of Baja on the Pacific side. Perhaps this will change the flow to what we saw in latter June and early July with a surge of tropical moisture from both the EPAC and subsequently the same flow would direct northward a moist envelope from the BOC. Something to keep monitor in the coming days.

Very impressive outflow boundary blew through the Metroplex. I saw a transformer blow in Plano, near Jupiter/Plano Pkwy, and debris flying everywhere. It was like a Blue Norther coming through.
