When was last time S FL had above normal rain in Spring

#1 Postby boca » Wed Mar 12, 2008 3:35 pm

For the past 5 or 6 years it seems Florida rainfall for Spring has been below normal, this is becoming the norm it would appear. It always happens around late March thru Mid May that an upper level high parks itself over Florida preventing weather systems to penatrate the ridge. When the high establishes itself everything is shunted to the NE not allowing a system moving off Texas to cross the GOM but go up thru the Ohio Valley.I can't recall a wet Spring here in the lower 2/3 of Florida. This Spring will be no exception.

by the calendar we have 4 seasons just like the rest of the world...of course, relatively speaking there is no real 'winter' compared to most of the u.s....but once you get past that, there really is a distinct difference here between summer and winter.
