All time low for April

#1 Postby Scott Patterson » Tue Apr 01, 2008 9:16 pm

Craig Colorado had an official low of -2F this morning (no April fools joke either). That ties the all time record low any time in April and was last set in 1936. Winter just wants to hang on!

72 years doesn't represent climate, but thousands of years does. Therefore, there's nothing here that's related to climate variations.

I anyone wants to take the argument further, then you can say that the instruments in 1936 were not as accurate as they are today. Maybe the temperature reading was lower, maybe higher.

I you want to argue, there is no end!!!!

No, 72 years does not represent a climatic change, but, if GW is happening as Al Gore claims it is then temperatures should be slowly warming which in fact global temps are off their peak from 1998. If we are in a warming trend (which we are but it is natural) than all time monthly low temp records should be few and far between......MGC

No, there should overall just be more record highs than lows. If the earth warmed, there would still be record lows, just not as many.

The duration of cyclical temperature changes is beyond our lifespan.

We're only here for a little while. We got lucky. Enjoy it!!
