March in Minnesota

#1 Postby RL3AO » Sat Mar 27, 2010 7:09 pm

Most snow in March: 40 inches
Least snow in March: 0.1 inches (for about 4 more days when it will be 0 inches in 2010)
Record high in March: 83
Record low in March: -32
Tornadoes? Yes
Floods? Yes
Blizzards? Yes

Fun fact: March 26 is the only day where the record low isn't below zero.

So no snow this March. Going to end about 11 degrees above average and might hit 80 on Wednesday.

Thats impressivly above average there!

March is a pretty cool month because you can get some decent highs and still get cold temps as well as other extreme events!

80 is pretty good for up there. :sun:

So no snow this March

Quite amazing in MN and an amazing record.

Anyway, it's been a pretty boring March over here, weather wise. So far our warmest day has been 56F and our coldest -7F. We had 5 days that reached 50 or above and three days that dropped to 0 or below. Snow and precip have been below average. This was the most boring March I've ever seen here.

these are interesting numbers for MN. one of the things i've noticed about this winter is a distinct lack of a thermal gradient from top to bottom in the eastern US. while the far north seems to have had warmer temps the far south has had well below normal temps. here in florida many locales are headed a march that will be among the top 5 coldest.
