Looks like the last of the winter snow (what's left over from winter, undoubtabley it will snow again) has finally melted today. I guess spring is really here now. The grass is starting to turn somewhat green in a few spots and we may break 70 tomorrow. Nights have been really warm as well; it was 22F this morning, but even warmer yesterday morning (cloudy). Another snow storm is due Friday, but unlike the winter snows it won't stick around for months on end.
The elk herds are starting to migrate too and I've been seeing several hundred on my way to work; another sure sign of spring. Large herds of antelope are returning as well and are becoming much more visible. The squirrels and beaver are really starting to be really active as well and several cougars have been spotted about (unfortunately one was hit by a car on our project). It seems that the animals also look foreward to spring as well. Even the coyotes don't sound as lonely anymore!
The snow is gone and spring is here!
