This video needs it's own thread because any discussion on it would get lost in the large one.

That video completely sent chills down my back, which is very rare. I think that is the most vivid audio of a EF5 tornado I have ever heard and any weather "footage" at that. Even though it was less defined when the media on TV played that clip back, watching it online with higher audio quality really sent that piece to the next level. That actually might become very historic footage years later looking back even though I thought much less first watching that on TV. I haven't heard so much glass breaking/shattering all simultaneously in anything else I've ever heard.
In greater detail, it seemed like there were two waves of the tornado in the middle and I wonder if they were in the center of the EF5 twister during that first lull. That would be astounding to capture that on "video". That typical pitch black outside before the tornado approaches seemed to be constant for a very long time seen at the start of the clip. In other videos of EF5 and down to EF3 tornadoes, I've seen it go from daylight to pitch black within seconds. Not sure how much is known on this.
I see the comments on the video page are disabled, does anyone know if they were disabled right from the start or recently disabled?

this video went "viral" right away. as far as i know, the poster disabled comments from go (a wise decision imo). i agree that it is so scary. you could tell things were fairly light hearted early on. there was some nervousness but these folks have been through many tornado warnings in the past and you could sense that. one thing i was curious about is during the first couple of minutes you see some flashes outside when the camera looks outside. i wonder if those were power flashes from the approaching tornado or lightning? i don't know but it was awful damn scary. the relative calm after the initial blast was reported by other survivors as well. at this point they think it's over when in reality the worst was yet to come. on TWC dr forbes showed a radar shot of a recent oklahoma tornado shot by howard bluestein that showed an "eye" in a tornado there. he stated there can be calm in a tornado and compared it to a small version of a hurricane. it sounds like that phenomenon was recorded here and these folks initially believed the storm had passed. i am thankful this guy was able to record this and get out alive. just wow.

I can't remember if the comments were initially disabled or not. I honestly initially thought that this was a hoax the first time I saw it because of poor video quality and some of the comments people were making sounded like something kids playing a prank might say to make it more dramatic. I did some quick checking and figured out real quick it was not a hoax. That is when I was really freaked by the whole thing. One of the most chilling videos I have ever watched/heard. These last several weeks between MS, AL, and Joplin have really put the fear in me. As vigilant as I am about the weather anyway these last several weeks have made me much more so.

The only other audio that I heard that stunned me was a real old one from th 70's of a church full of people being told during a sermon that a tornado was coming and they needed to head underground. You can hear them exiting and then you hear the wind and the church being ripped to shreds before the audio goes out. I believe it was in Ohio. I don't think it was Xenia, but it was around that time.
This audio and the subsequent video the day after is about as close to a tornado that I ever want to get. All of them were damn lucky to have made it out alive. The darkness and the flashes of lightning prior to all of them running for the cooler was scary as all hell.
Thanks for sharing that video.
