Central Plains Severe Weather Threat

#1 Postby ksstormhunter » Sat Sep 17, 2011 1:39 pm

Seeing potential for some severe weather across the SW part of Oklahoma up to Western, KS. Just pushed out my 18Z Smartcast run and seeing potential for strong convective winds up to 60 knots. Any favorable tornadic areas although limited looks to be focused around the Altus, OK area. Uploaded output to view at http://smartwxmodel.net Currently showing LI's around -7, SFC based CAPES around 2,000 J/KG and SSI are decent at -3.

Yep, a lot of chasers are out today in the OK and KS area waiting to see if anything happens.
