New Orleans didn't come close to tieing the record high. Sure, the airport tied its record but records there only go back to 1947. Audubon Park has been the recording the weather in New Orleans since 1871. The record high for 11/15 is 88 set in 1921. So, while you hear media outlets mention the number of record highs being set, a sure sign of global warming, many of these site are new compared to the long term sites....MGC

I'm not sure i understand your argument here since the newer stations would also report more record lows as well when compared to older stations. the increased frequency of record extremes should occur on both ends of the spectrum for the newer stations.
