Wednesday was the hottest day in Oklahoma since August 1936, said wunderground's weather historian, Christopher C. Burt...The hot spot Wednesday: 121° in Freedom, in the northwest part of the state. If verified, this temperature would beat Oklahoma's all-time state temperature record of 120°, set in Tipton on June 27, 1994, and at three locations in 1936.

Aside from the desert areas, that is the hottest temperature in the US so far this year and maybe breaking the All-time Oklahoma state record!!! That is the 3rd all-time state record to fall in the US so far this year if I'm not mistaken . Is there a reason you didn't add that to the list tropicana?

Its going to be yet another very hot day in southern Ontario and the Great Lakes region tomorrow. On a side note, Sulaibya Kuwait hit 53.6°C (128.5°F) on July 31, 2012 which is the 2nd hottest temperature in Asian history.

On a different note, I wonder how long it takes for a state record to start showing up in the almanacs/NCDC database?

Utah set it's record of 118F in July 2007. The temperature was verified as being accurate, but it's still not in the almanacs or NCDC database.
