Re: Texas Spring 2024
I was hoping for some Tstorm theater before the Mavs and Stars games but instead I see a 7-10 split on radar with DFW in the middle. Oh well It's starting to cool off at least.

So it looks like activity to the west-nw earlier than usual dumped an outflow boundary which is where the activity now is moving. Had that not happened earlier maybe the cells would've moved more directly across DFW like some of the early day runs. Nevertheless, less humid days.

Hi everyone! Long time lurker ( two/three years). And first post. I’m kind of a weather nerd, but know absolutely nothing about weather, if that makes sense! Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for what you do and the info you provide. I’m down in Ellis County in the Midlothian/Ovilla area, Thanks again!

Yup. Baseball size hail per radar and now tornado warned. Need to watch the outflow boundary it's helped to generate to see if that fires off some additional storms further south.

The cell dropping baseball hail near Hillsboro was headed right for the Metroplex, but fortunately for us it hung a right somewhere between Mineral Wells and Weatherford and started diving southeast.

Guess SPC/EWX office doesn’t see the storms making it much further south based on their new watch box area.

Dallas and Tarrant have had plenty of rain but somehow we’ve avoided the real nasty stuff this spring, the hailstorms and serious flash floods.

Storm back building a bit along another outflow boundary pushing south into southern HC north of SA. It has definitely taken a more southerly track within the last few scans. Might even get into New Braunfels. Race against time though before convective inhibition kicks in.

Per the SPC, there's been a grand total of 1 high wind report in all of DFW for 2024.
And of course, there was that one 8 second EF-0 tornado in the Frisco college parking lot.

Watch box extended south and east now…looking more interesting with that outflow.
Egg sized hail reported in Wimberley.

San Marcos storm probably should be tornado warned and likely has softball size hail with it.

Incredible hail reports in and around Johnson City.
Edit: Wimberly was also hit hard as well as San Marcos. Lots of wind driven hail damage along with numerous trees down and powerlines per Hays County Emergency Manager.
