The Coastal Counties of South and North Carolina ...

Latest RUC precip type run indicates that mixed precip may just make it close enough to the coast ... I'm not so sure about this ... but it's worth posting anyway ...

Well some frz drizzle did occur this morning at 32 degrees, but CHS only made down to 34...barely a trace ...

However, Columbia wasn't so lucky ... freezing rain caused power outages, numerous traffic accidents, and as Colasnow put it, not one Meteorologist in the CAE or TV area saw it coming.

Colasnow wrote:Stormsfury, Just wanted to say that you were right on the money as far as icing in South Carolina (Columbia)was concerned. We had terrible problems on the exit ramps this am, power outrages and icing in the trees. Not one Meterologist forcasted this to happen. You said the potential was there and you were right. Good Job.
