Can You Say HOT!!!!!????? Record High Today Already!

#1 Postby southerngale » Thu Oct 23, 2003 12:54 pm

Dang, it's a scorcher out there!! It's already 93° and it's not even 1pm yet! We've already set a record high for today. The old record was 88° in 1981.

I'm thinking about going swimming.

DANG! That hot this month? The local TV station says we're gonna reach near record highs in the DFW area at about 92. It's already 83.

Actually, most of Beaumont has already surpassed 90° with a few areas hitting 93° ---here's a few temps as of right now. I'm not sure where you got that official temp, but we have already passed 90° all over Beaumont. :o
If it's the Jefferson County airport, that's not even in Beaumont so it can be deceiving. ;) 8-)

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA
220 PM CDT THU 23 OCT 2003

.OVERVIEW...
LATEST VISIBLE SATELLITE PICTURE DOESN'T SHOW HARDLY A CLOUD IN
THE SKY ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. PLENTY OF SUNSHINE HAS AGAIN
ALLOWED THE AREA TO WARM UP TO MUCH ABOVE TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO
UPPER 80S. AT 18Z TEMP AT KBPT WAS 87F JUST ONE OFF THE RECORD HIGH
FOR THE DAY OF 88F.

A record high won't be "official" unless its recorded at an offical reporting station like an airport. Doesn't matter what the weatherbug sites say...

Y/W Johnny 8-)

PT....I was just pointing out that Beaumont had definitely surpassed 90° - easily. That's why I was showing some local current temps.

I understand how the "official" high works even though the airport isn't even in Beaumont. Anyhow, we have officially broken the record. ;)

I think we did yesterday as well.
At least it's going to get a lot cooler this weekend!! :D

SG, the promise of low 40's makes it alot easier to get through this "Indian Summer". One more hot day, then some storms, and then cool and windy...can't wait.
