LAX-DAG is the most commonly used indicator of whether we're under an onshore or offshore flow. If you read the forecast discussion often, you see it mentioned very often. It's just the SLP at LAX subtracted from the SLP at DAG. So, a negative number means offshore flow. So, it was -3.4mb LAX-DAG indicating a weak-moderate offshore flow. -11.2mb is the 24 hour change which indicates that the gradient is trending offshore strongly (as you can tell by the increasing winds today). For northerly winds, LAX-BFL (lax to bakersfield) is commonly used. That has been very strong, especially last night when I believe it was near -7. Had wind gusts up to 30-40mph last night. OC is less susceptible to N and NW winds, while more susceptible to NE winds, so tomorrow should be your day for strong winds.

Looks like it's gone up a bit, which is good for those who like offshore winds (like me
