Small earthquake - VA

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Tue Dec 09, 2003 4:30 pm

Fox 5 news in Washington, DC is reporting an earthquake earlier this
afternoon with the epicenter approx 30 miles west of Richmond. The
4.6 quake could be felt as far away as Washington. No damage or
casualties reported.

I think the 12z GFS showed the earthquake a few days ago, but lost it. The 0z ETA had it as a 5.2, but it always overestimates RSS (Richter Scale Severity).

Alexandria felt nothing, but my wife in Fredericksburg said it sounded like a train in the distance and things shook a bit. No big deal there.
