#1 Postby Josephine96 » Fri Feb 20, 2004 2:55 pm

Central Florida has it's Hazardous Weather Awareness week next week. In conjunction with that... a state wide tornado drill is planned for sometime next week..

I believe it's Monday but don't quote me..

6 years ago Monday.. 42 people died and nearly 300 were injured when tornadoes came through Central Florida during the early AM hours

Maybe I just notice it more, but it seems like, especially in late winter and early, early spring, the southeast U.S. sustains more overnight tornado outbreaks.

Here we get damaging winds, large hail, and "doppler radar indicated" tornadoes overnight, but touchdowns at night, not very often.
