1238 PM CDT TUE MAY 11 2004

...MICROBURST PRODUCED 60 KNOT (69 MPH) WINDS OVER INTERCONTINENTAL
AIRPORT...

* AT 1233 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE PERSONAL REPORTED 60 KNOT WINDS
ASSOCIATED WITH A MICROBURST. THIS STORM HAS WEAKENED SLIGHTLY AND
RESIDENTS OVER NORTHERN HARRIS AND SOUTHERN MONTGOMERY COUNTIES CAN
EXPECT BRIEF GUSTY WINDS IN EXCESS OF 40 KNOTS THROUGH 1 PM.

* LOCATIONS IN THE PATH OF THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM INCLUDE...
BUSH-INTERCONTINENTAL AIRPORT...HUMBLE...SPRING...CHATEAU WOODS
PORTER HEIGHTS...WOODLOCH
PORTER...KINGWOOD
NEW CANEY


A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM.

That's a mighty strong wind gust! Still not much in the way of rainfall around here today but it looks like alot of the storms in SE Texas could make it over here this evening.

Stay safe. :eek: A micro burst is what took down that Delta L-1011 at fort worth back in the 80's. It was landing..took out a few cars on the highway and some tanks on the runway. It was a miracle that some passengers walked away with out a scratch http://www.airdisaster.com/special/special-dl191.shtml
