The beginnings of a Southeastern drought AGAIN!?

#1 Postby JQ Public » Tue May 11, 2004 9:18 pm

Just wondering what y'all think about the growing rainfall deficit in the southeast. I know April is normally Raleigh's driest month, but i think this entire year has been slightly below normal. Any predictions/expectations/commentary would be helpful! Thanks. BTW, we are almost 5" below normal for the year in raleigh.

Drought Monitor shows portions of SC and a large portion of GA are in Moderate Drought now with surrounding areas as Abnormally Dry. Patches
of Abnormally Dry conditions are also found in AL and MS.

If this Mid Summer like pattern doesn't change soon, the Midwest could have a bit of a drought as well
