AFD snip from Blacksburg...
NO RAIN IN THE GAGE HERE AT BCB TODAY...BUT THERE WAS A PRETTY GOOD FROG STRANGLER JUST NE OF TOWN...RADAR ESTIMATING A 3-4 INCH MAXIMA ON BRUSH MTN...ON THE EAST SIDE OF 460. THERE WAS AN IFLOWS GAGE IN EASTERN GILES COUNTY WITH 1.46 INCHES... HOWEVER NO REPORT FROM WHERE THE RADAR ESTIMATED THE HEAVIEST RAIN.
For those not from Virginia, I'll translate:
Pulse missed the FO but it rained like Hell just north of Virginia Tech. Doppler estimate, which usually sucks, grossly overdone between Roanoke and Lynchburg, but +RA south of there in a rain gage where Radar estimated very little.
zones already out.
Have a good night.
