I saw it live on TV!!!! A tornado is on the ground in northern Platte County MO

SEVERE WEATHER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE KANSAS CITY/PLEASANT HILL MO
620 PM CDT SAT MAY 29 2004

...TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT FOR NORTHERN
PLATTE COUNTY...AND UNTIL 715 PM FOR SOUTHEASTERN BUCHANAN
COUNTY...

AT 614 PM CDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A TORNADO 4 MILES
WEST NORTHWEST OF CAMDEN POINT...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.
SPOTTERS REPORT THE TORNADO AS V-SHAPED AND IS GETTING LARGER AS THE
SPOTTER WATCHES THE STORM.

RESIDENTS OF CAMDEN POINT NORTH TO DEARBORN NEED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE
ACTION TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. THE TORNADO WILL CROSS
INTERSTATE 29 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 25 AND 30...OR NEAR THE COUNTY
LINE BETWEEN BUCHANAN AND PLATTE COUNTIES.

LARGE HAIL TO GOLF BALL SIZE AND DESTRUCTIVE THUNDERSTORM WINDS ARE
ALSO LIKELY WITH THIS STORM.

THIS TORNADIC STORM IS EXPECTED TO BE NEAR...
DEARBORN...FAUCETT BY 630 PM CDT.
RIDGELY BY 640 PM CDT.
EDGERTON BY 645 PM CDT.
AGENCY BY 650 PM CDT.

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A
WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS
AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN
INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO
COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES...EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A
SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. IF NO SHELTER IS AVAILABLE...LIE FLAT IN THE
NEAREST DITCH OR OTHER LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

Yes like about 12 miles from KCI. About 20 miles north of Downtown KCMO

Damage has been spotted by the Channel 9 helicopter in Dearborn It is heading NNE possibly straight north now.

Local channel in KC has the news chopper up and watching it right now. It has done damage to some homes and wooded areas.

I saw the whole thing unfold on TV.. The wall cloud and the dropping of the rotation to the ground. That was wild!

Looking like the hook is redeveloping. The radar for KMBC has redetected rotation back in that storm.
