Is it, could it BE? IT IS!

Seems to me, HEY, what do "I" know, maybe, JUST MAYBE, the moisture needed to kick off the 2004 Monsoon season is just a few weeks OFF 8-)

AFDFGZ

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION...RETRANSMISSION FOR CRS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF AZ
420 PM MST FRI JUN 18 2004

.SYNOPSIS...A WEAK DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN GREAT
BASIN THIS AFTERNOON BRINGING SOME AFTERNOON CLOUDS AND A SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS NEAR THE UTAH BORDER. OTHERWISE...A DRY SOUTHWEST
FLOW WILL BRING MAINLY CLEAR SKIES...NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES...AND
BREEZY AFTERNOON WINDS.

&&

.DISCUSSION...AN S/W TROUGH WAS OVER CA/NV THIS AFTERNOON AND WILL
APPROACH AZ LATER TODAY AND THIS EVENING. ENOUGH MOISTURE AND
INSTABILITY REMAIN FOR A VERY SLIGHT CHANCE OF A THUNDERSTORM OVER
FAR NE AZ...AND SOME LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING CLOUDS OVER
THE NRN THIRD OF THE STATE. OTHERWISE...IT WILL BE MOSTLY CLEAR WITH
NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES. WITH SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT EXPECT THE USUAL
SOUTHWEST WINDS AT 10 TO 20 MPH EACH AFTERNOON.

SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE CONTINUES TO SLOWLY SEEP NORTHWARD OVER MEXICO.
WILL NEED TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THIS SINCE ONLY A SLIGHT INCREASE
WILL BE ENOUGH TO TRIGGER SOME HIGH BASED DRY THUNDERSTORMS. PER
COORDINATION CALL WITH SURROUNDING OFFICES...WILL KEEP POPS ZERO
THROUGH THE EXTENDED BUT ALLOW SOME INCREASE IN DAILY AFTERNOON
CLOUDINESS.

on my homepage, I'm looking towards the 4th or 5th of July for the moisture to begin coming in at the lower levels.

That is a funky forecast alrighty..Verbage like subtropical moisture, instability, thunderstorms, s/w trough, and yet.......

ENOUGH TO TRIGGER SOME HIGH BASED DRY THUNDERSTORMS. PER
COORDINATION CALL WITH SURROUNDING OFFICES...WILL KEEP POPS ZERO
THROUGH THE EXTENDED BUT ALLOW SOME INCREASE IN DAILY AFTERNOON
CLOUDINESS.

lightening, increased clouds and ZERO pops is the reward...geesh..

good sleeping weather though...lol

Hope you get WET soon!

I certainly hope so for you out there in the SW.

Even though there's a wildfire in NM, it does seem that the CO plains, NM and the panhandles of OK & TX has been getting alot of rain lately. Am I imagining it?

Steve - what is your website?
