Cells developing on NJ/NY border

They are heading east. They contain strong gusty winds 50-70mph, I can guarntee NYC will eb affected in 2-4 hours.

Oh no... My parents are going to be taking the cross sound ferry this evening to go from CT to LI to visit my brother and his wife. I hope they have a safe trip across the sound. I didnt need to see that radar image, believe me.

Pray for them as more storms are rapidly developing on the pa/nj border.

I think they should be across the sound now. I think my mom said their ferry across was at 5:30 or 6, and I know that it takes just about 1 hour to get across the sound.

Felt the storms and man I got some very heavy rain in 30 mins!!!
Winds were blowing like crazy but the rain was very heavy!

More are poping up now and places should still get severe weather into the night all the way up to SE NY. Maybe even some training starting in areas!
watch out for the heavy rain and severe cells into the night.

well i remain high and dry over here in monmouth county in east NJ. I wanna get in on these terential downpours but nothing hs come and everything is north and west and heading north

This is why! This line just stood on top of me for 30 mins with extreme rain falling! My backyard was underwater for a while which never happens because their are drains! :crazyeyes:

Just some rain showers for me down here in SW NJ. There were some storms in the area, but nothing severe.
