First Level Red Air Pollution Watch of the year.

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Tue Jul 20, 2004 11:19 am

Just yesterday afternoon, Southeastern Tarrant County in TX was under Air Pollution Warning Level Red. After that incident, we're put under a Level Red Air Pollution Watch, that means the air out there is very unhealthy for some people. Nobody will be mowing outdoors today.

We had a special weather statement earlier mentioning that the haze is the result of smoke from fires in Canada and Alaska. Air pollution is in the moderate category as well. It's amazing that smoke can travel this far. A couple years back we had smoke coming up from the Yucatan from forest fires down there. You could actually smell the smoke in the air and people were advised to stay indoors because of the terrible air quality.
