QBO: +8.82

#1 Postby donsutherland1 » Tue Sep 07, 2004 3:21 pm

August saw the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation (QBO) continue its decline. It now stands at +0.82.

Over the past 3 months, the QBO has most resembled those of 2002 and 1969:

Year.........June.........July..........August.....Avg. Dif. from 2004.
1969..........9.35........9.08.........9.78.......1.41
2002........13.26.......10.05.......10.60.......1.31
2004........11.75........9.96.........8.82

At this time, a transition to east during the winter continues to look reasonable.
