Night Winds

#1 Postby Aslkahuna » Wed Oct 20, 2004 11:21 pm

are beginning to blow down here as the upper level system from CA approaches and the winds aloft increase. We are already seeing ACSL overhead so the mountain wave off the Huachucas is setting up. It could get quite blustery over the next several hours as we get into a downslope/Canyon Wind pattern. These wind events can be quite extreme though localized with gusts in the 80+ mph range at times. However, the current system does not seem that strong son probably only localized 50-60 mph gusts are likely.
